Today's Makeup Look 30 - Summer Makeup

Inspiration and guidance from NARS' Director of Global Artistry:

"Summer is the time to be more experimental and playful. You're wearing more colour in your clothing, so add it to your makeup, as well. Even if you're the type to wear neutrals, try gold and copper, as well as brown. Try colour in your eyeliner or on your eyelids." James Boehmer, 2011.

Q: If you only have 5 minutes to do your makeup?

"It all starts with the skin. Spend time on making sure you take care of it. Then use a sheer foundation and concealer. And add one thing — eyeliner, mascara or lipstick." James Boehmer, 2011.

Today's Makeup Look 29

This look was from Canada's National NARS makeup artist Danny, however I used Caravaggio today instead of the bright blue in the Summer NARS Trio.

NARS Laguna (brown gold) bronzer in number 3 pattern.
NARS Riviera (translucent pink) Multiple on eyes, cheeks.

NARS Copacabana (pearlescent) Multiple as highlight on top of cheek and up towards temple, nose, chin, and highpoint of brow arch.

NARS Bengali  (brown) lined eyes.

NARS Caravaggio (iridescent violet) lined eyes overtop of the brown.
NARS Blondie  (light taupe) eyeshadow to fill in eyebrows.

Today's Makeup Look 28: Neutrals p.88-89 of Makeup Your Mind

First applied concealer under eyes, next to nose, and on blemishes using Custard and Vanilla.  Then added the NARS smudgeproof eyeshadow base on eyelids.  Used my fingers to tap the Cannes multiple (metallic mauve) pigment along and under cheek bone and on apples of cheeks.  Using a powder brush, applied NARS pressed powder in Eden all over face, creating a softening effect of naturally rosy cheeks.  Put Lola Lola shadow (frosted brown) on eyelids and around eye.  Placed the beige pink matte colour of All About eye under eyebrow and blended towards crease as described.  Added a very light amount of Blondie (matte light taupe) above crease and at inner corner of eye.  Used Blondie to fill in eyebrows.  Put on lots of coats of the NARS Larger Than Life Volumizing mascara.  Lastly, substituted the described lipsticks and gloss for the Velvet Matte lip pencil in Sex Machine.

NARS Orgasm Illuminator on cheeks and lightly along nose.

NARS Concealer under eyes and on blemishes applied first on hand to warm, and then transferred using a flat concealer and point concealer brush respectively.

NARS Pressed Powder in Eden all over face.

NARS Smudgeproof Eyeshadow base on eyes

NARS Malibu (pink brown) along/below cheek bone and on lips.

NARS South Beach (apricot bronze) on eyes.

NARS Mambo eyeliner pencil (brown) smudged out around eye and on lid as base.

NARS Kuala Lampur (boysenberry gold, rose gold) boysenberry gold all over lid and around eye; blend edge with clean bending brush and then blend lightly rose gold colour in crease.
NARS Deep Throat (pinky peach) brushed on apples of cheek and lightly brushed out along cheek bone.
NARS Blondie  (light taupe) eyeshadow to fill in eyebrows.

NARS Pandora (black matte) using the Push eyeliner brush applies black shadow to the base of eyeleashes.

NARS Deep Throat (pinky peach) brushed on apples of cheek and lightly brushed out along cheek bone.
NARS Bengali  (matte brown) very light fade from crease to brow extending very lightly down close to bottom of eye outward.

NARS Night Breed  (black with silver glitter) thin line along top lashes and inbetween top and bottom lashes.

NARS South Beach (apricot) Multiple on eyes, lips, and along cheek bone.

NARS Mambo (chocolate brown) Eye Liner Pencil lightly smudged out around eye and as base.
NARS Calanque  (platinum, caramel, bronze) bronze colour used all over lid and around eye and later as upper eyeliner; caramel colour used very light so that almost only the brush is used to blend in crease; platinum used a small amount to set/press this powder over the lid, inner eye and from crease to brow.
